SSC CGL – Know the SSC CGL 2020 Syllabus

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level –CGL Exam for the appointment of candidates in Grade “B” and “C” category posts at various Government Departments and Offices. The SSC CGL exam has a four-tier system, in which tier I and tier II are totally computer-based, while in tier III and IV, applicants take up a descriptive paper and a computer proficiency test & document verification. SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier 1

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Problem-Solving, Decision Making, Number Series, Space Visualization, Non-Verbal Series, Spatial Orientation, Analysis, etc.

General Awareness: India and its Neighboring Countries, Geography, Economic Scene, Culture, Questions Relating to Environment, Indian History, General Policy & Scientific Research.

Quantitative Aptitude: Percentage, Averages, Ratio & Proportion, Simplification, Profit and Loss, Interest, Time and distance, Square Roots, Triangle, Time & Work, Quadrilaterals, Mixture and Alligation.

English Comprehension: Topics to Test Candidates, Basic Comprehension Ability to Understand Correct English and Writing Ability, Grammar, etc.

SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier-II: 

Quantitative Ability: Percentage, Simplification, Time & Work, Square Roots, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss.

English Language & Comprehension: Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms, Spelling/ Detecting Misspelled Words, Idioms & Phrases, One-Word Substitution, etc.

Statistics: Probability Theory, Central Tendency, Statistical Inference, Sampling Theory, Dispersion, etc.

General Studies (Finance & Economics):

SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier III:

In Tier 3 exam, the candidate’s written skills in English/Hindi will be checked.

Candidates will have to write Application, essays, Letter, etc. 

SSC CGL Syllabus for  Tier IV:

DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): This post for the Tax Assistance (Central Excise and Income Tax), DEST Exam through SSC is to check the candidates typing speed. Candidates will type a given art career by a computer which will be the English paragraph. The time given will be 15 Minutes and the word count will be 2000 words.

CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Basically there will be three modules in this exam: Spreadsheets, Word Processing and Generation of slides.
